When you cast an abjuration spell of 1st level or higher and not as a ritual, you can simultaneously use a strand of the spell's magic to create an Arcane Ward on yourself that lasts until you finish a rest. The Arcane Ward has Hit Points equal to your Spellcasting Attribute. Whenever you take damage, the Arcane Ward takes the damage instead. If this damage reduces the Arcane Ward to 0 Hit Points, you take any remaining damage.
The Arcane Ward has no Toughness or any resistances.
While the Arcane Ward has 0 Hit Points, it can't absorb damage, but its magic remains. Whenever you cast an abjuration spell of 1st level or higher and not as a ritual, the Arcane Ward regains a number of Hit Points equal to the level of the spell.
Once you create the Arcane Ward, you can't create it again until you finish a rest.

When your Arcane Ward absorbs damage and reaches 0 Hit Points, a creature of your choice within 1 square of you takes 1d4 force damage. This damage ignores Toughness.
Vallum Refactum

Once per rest, as a Free Action you may create your Arcane Ward again with its full Hit Points.
Projected Ward

When a creature that you can see within 5 squares of you takes damage, you can use your Reaction to cause your Arcane Ward to absorb that damage instead. If this damage reduces the Arcane Ward to 0 Hit Points, the warded creature takes any remaining damage.
